Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Daily Five provides private journaling, habit tracking and spaces for reflection. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices available to you.
Daily Five is operated by Jedediah White, based in Cuenca, Ecuador.
For privacy questions or requests, contact support@yourdailyfive.com or visit our Data Requests page.
Information we collect
Account information. When you register or manage your account, we collect information such as your name, email address, password hash, account preferences and membership status. Account confirmation and password recovery also involve temporary verification records.
Journal content and photos. We store the entries, answers, moods, tags and photos you choose to save. Your content may contain sensitive personal information, depending on what you write or upload.
Habits and Breathing Room preferences. We store the habits you select, completion records and supported preferences. For signed-in members, Breathing Room settings may include per-room sound levels and timer choices. Public-preview adjustments are held temporarily in browser memory for that page visit.
Billing information. We receive information needed to maintain your membership, such as customer and subscription identifiers, selected plan, billing interval, subscription status and transaction-related records.
Support messages. If you contact us, we collect the information you provide, including your contact details and message. Please avoid sending passwords or unnecessary journal content.
Technical and security information. Our website and hosting services may record IP addresses, browser information, request times, login attempts and errors. We also record information needed to prevent abuse and document billing authorization.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Save and display your journal, photos, habits and preferences.
- Provide membership access and keep billing status synchronized.
- Send account confirmation, password recovery and necessary service messages.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Prevent spam, fraud and unauthorized access.
- Maintain the service and meet applicable legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these purposes may rely on providing the service you requested, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting it, legal obligations, or your consent where required.
Your journal is private
Your journal entries, photos and habit records are not public posts. They are intended to be accessible through your account and are not intended for public search-engine indexing.
Privacy does not mean that your content is inaccessible to the service operator. Authorized personnel or service providers may need access where necessary to maintain the service, investigate a security issue, respond to a support request or comply with a legal obligation.
We do not sell your journal content or publish it for other members to browse.
You control what you include in your entries and photos. Take care when recording information about other people or downloading your data to a shared device.
Payments and subscriptions
Paid memberships are handled through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Payment details are entered into its checkout rather than collected by Daily Five’s journal forms.
Daily Five does not store your full payment-card number or card security code. We retain the subscription and transaction information needed to provide access, maintain records and handle billing inquiries.
Lemon Squeezy processes information under its own Privacy Policy.
Cancelling a subscription and deleting a Daily Five account are separate actions. Cancellation does not automatically delete your journal or account.
Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies and similar browser features to maintain sessions, protect forms and remember supported preferences.
You can review the choices offered through Cookie Preferences and manage cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other account features from working.
Choosing not to receive optional marketing messages does not prevent us from sending necessary account, security or billing communications.
Service providers and external content
We use providers for website hosting, data storage, email delivery and payment services. They may process information needed to perform those services.
Some pages and Breathing Room experiences load media from external providers. Loading that media can disclose technical information, such as your IP address and browser information, to the provider. Following an external link also subjects your visit to that website’s privacy practices.
We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the service, investigate misuse or establish or defend legal rights.
How long we keep information
We retain account information, journal content, photos, habits and preferences while your account remains open, unless you delete particular information or request account closure.
A trial ending or a subscription being cancelled does not, by itself, delete your saved content.
Other retention periods are:
- Support correspondence: 60 days.
- Security and operational logs: 60 days.
- Billing and consent records: for the period required by applicable accounting, tax, legal and dispute-resolution requirements.
- Backups: deleted information may remain in protected backups for up to 30day before those backups expire or are overwritten.
Some records may need to be retained longer to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.
Access, downloads and deletion
You can manage supported account details and download selected categories of your Daily Five data through the account area.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability or restrictions on processing, or to object to certain uses of your information. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent.
Contact support@yourdailyfive.com or use our Data Requests page. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Account closure is subject to identity verification and any necessary billing checks. If self-service closure is unavailable, contact us for assistance. Download anything you want to keep before requesting deletion.
You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
Security
We use access controls and security measures designed to protect your information. Passwords are stored as hashes rather than readable passwords.
No online service can guarantee complete security. Use a strong, unique password, protect your email account and sign out on shared devices.
International processing
Daily Five is operated from Ecuador. Our service providers may process information in other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we must ensure the relevant safeguards are in place.
Children’s privacy
Daily Five is intended for users 18 years or older and is not directed to children below that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to this policy, contact us so we can investigate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our service, practices or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice of significant changes where required.
